Ashland Chamber Launches New Construction Trades Committee

The Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce has launched a new Construction Trades Committee. This newly formed action committee, sponsored by Bill Harris Dealerships, is designed to promote and enhance the professionalism of the building and associated industries. Through strong support of the industry in both the government and private sectors, this committee was formed to provide a community service including member and consumer education and promote ethical standards within the industry. Committee members include: Chairman Shaw Rader, Simonson Construction; Chamber Representative, Barbie Lange, President/CEO; Alan Bean, A&J Home Improvement; Jim Brown, Arch Home Improvement; This committee is working closely with surrounding municipalities, city, and county representatives to develop a “Contractor Registration Program”. The committee is also designing an informative marketing program for participant qualifications and community education. The Construction Trades Committee will meet quarterly and is scheduled to meet again in early spring. Topics will include: certifications, registration, liability insurance, implementation and community awareness. The Ashland Chamber is seeking community input and welcomes community participation. The Construction Trades Action Committee is just one of several new initiatives launched from the Chamber designed to address areas of vital importance within the membership and the business community. The other committees include: Marketing Opportunities; Membership Recruitment; Business Advocacy & Legislative Affairs; Agricultural; Exclusive Member-Only Benefit Programs; and Workplace Development. |
