Ashland County Engineer Ed Meixner, presented guardrail bids from two companies during the commissioners meeting Thursday. The project includes replacing and installing guardrail throughout Ashland County. "It's a project where we're using Highway Safety Improvement Programs," Meixner said. "It's federal funding administered by ODOT." "We apply for it, get approval, and then put together plans and bid developments," Meixner said. Both bids were considerably lower than the project cost estimate of $347,000. Meixner will now review the bids from Lake Erie Construction and PDK Construction companies. This is the third year for the guardrail replacement project in Ashland County. |
