The Bucks record goes to 11-7 as the sectional draw is set for Sunday afternoon. Both teams had been playing well of late. Mansfield Christian had won eight of their last nine and Buckeye Central posted wins in their previous eight of ten. Last night could have been a prelude to another match-up in the post-season. The night belonged to the Bucks who jumped to an 11-0 lead before the Flames Jacob Brown scored from inside. It didn't get any better for Mansfield Christian as they went into halftime down, 33-19. Without the services of injured starters, Bryce Ernsberger and Ryan Smith, the Flames sputtered on offense, getting no closer than 11 points. On a positive note, Brandon Mount led all scorers with 19 points and freshman Stevie Brown, off the bench, put up 11. Following the loss, their record drops to 14-4. Even though the Bucks won by a comfortable 14 point margin, Coach Phil Loy, had some concerns about his team's defense following the game. Cade Kaple along with Austin Wurm notched 16 points, and he also voiced concerns about the Bucks defense. |
