An investigation continues into the shooting of a Wayne County man shortly after 7 o'clock Friday night in rural Ashland.

Ashland Police responded to the scene after receiving an emergency call about someone being shot at a home at 380 Lakeview Drive.

Reports say Daniel Lance, 36, of Burbank was shot in the stomach by his father-in-law following a family dispute.

Lance was taken to Ashland Samaritan Hospital and later transported to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland.

A spokesperson there was unable to give an update on Lance's condition, although he is expected to survive.
