The Richland County Board of Elections certified candidates' petitions and issues for the May 7 Primary ballot Tuesday. The board did invalidate the petition of Republican Carl Yeager for the Mansfield City Council 5th Ward race. Deputy director Bill Freytag said the candidate submitted a false address which led to the board's decision. "It was brought to the attention of the Republican Party and the board chairman discussed the issue with the city's building codes manager," Freytag said. "The board found out the residence listed by Yeager is under a demolition order and no one is leaving there," Freytag said. In other business, the board approved the appointments of Madison Township Trustees Tom Craft and Miles Hoehn. |
