At 12-6, 6-2 in the Northern Ohio League, the Shelby boy's basketball team will look to wrap up the home portion of their schedule with a win over 9-10 Bellevue.  In addition to this being the final home game of the season and final home game for five seniors, Austin Rohde, Andrew Baird, Tyler Young, Grant Fenner and A.J. Bihl, but it also appears to be the final varsity basketball game to be played at Joe Yohn Gymnasium which has been the home for Shelby girls and boys basketball since 1965.

Shelby coach Troy Schwemley says the game is more about the Whippets playing the Redmen and Shelby trying to get their fourth straight win.  In their first meeting at Bellevue back on January 4th, Shelby came out on top 66-54.  But the Redmen were without one of their best players in Trent Stamm who was out with an injury.  Bellevue also enters the game looking to stop a three game slide after a one point loss to Margaretta last Saturday 52-51, while the Whippets were winning on the road at Clyde 66-61.

Shelby's remaining two games are both on the road at Kenton on Saturday night, then at rival Willard next Friday night.  The Whippets will open tournament play at Bucyrus on Tuesday, February 26th against Upper Sandusky at 7pm at Bucyrus in the Division II sectional semifinal.  If Shelby wins they will be matched up against top seed Lexington on Friday, March 1st.  The Minutemen beat the Whippets back on January 5th, 64-53 at Shelby.
