Warriors Rock Wynford, Take NCC

The final North Central Conference crown will belong to Ontario after the Warriors beat down Wynford Saturday night 67-40.

Ontario came out strong with a dominating first quarter that had the Royals doubled up on the scoreboard at 18-9. Warriors senior Wyatt Clemens then got hot in the second quarter with three triples in the frame, helping Ontario extend their lead out to 39-25 at the break.

In the third quarter the Warriors would tighten up defensively, holding the Royals to just six points in the stanza while scoring 15 to increase the Ontario lead to 54-31. Clemens would can two more treys in the fourth quarter, giving him six for the game and the Warriors would cruise to a 27-point victory on senior night.

As a team Ontario shot 25-55 (46%) from the floor and connected on 10-23 (44%) 3-pointers. Wynford finished 17-52 (33%), 1-9 (11%) from down town.  

Clemens finished with a game high 20 , while teammate Cameron Mack posted 12 pts and 13 rb's and Tyler Boatwright chipped in with 7 pts and 7 asts. Mason Davis was leading scorer for the Royals with 12 pts, all in the first half, Mike Powers added 9, Todd Carter 8.

The Warriors finish up their home portion of the season at 10-2 and are 17-4 overall, 12-0 in league play with just one game remaining at winless Lucas next Friday. With a win over the Cubs, Ontario can become the first and last team to go undefeated in the NCC since the Warriors did it back in 2006-2007. Wynford (8-13, 5-7) finishes up the regular season Friday at red-hot Buckeye Central.
