The Coolest Shop In Town is open for business at 57 West Main Street in Shelby.

Mayor Marilyn John was on hand Tuesday afternoon to present a proclamation welcoming the new business, and to help owners Julie Britton and Larry Amato cut the ribbon.

The gift shop includes a private back room in which women battling breast cancer can get free items to help them through recovery, such as donated wigs and prosthetic bras.

Any cash donations are given to the American Cancer Society to help fund breast cancer research.
