The Mansfield City Schools Board of Education extended the contract of Treasurer Rosetta Stephens by five years Tuesday evening at their regular board meeting. Board members were unanimous in their praise of Stephens who was appointed treasurer in April 2011. Her contract, which would have expired on Aug. 1, was extended to Aug. 1, 2018. Her salary will remain at $84,000. “I am very pleased, based on Rosetta’s work, to recommend that we grant her a five-year contract extension effective Aug. 1,” board member Lowell Smith said. Board president Chris Elswick said the extension “indicates how much we appreciate Rosetta and how important she is to the district.” The board’s next meeting will be at 7 p.m. March 5 at the Raemelton administration building. The date of the second monthly meeting was changed to March 20, also at 7 p.m.
