The Lucas Board of Education is taking another step to ensure the safety of all students in the district.

The board discussed installing cameras inside all the buses at their regular meeting Tuesday.

Supt. Steve Dickerson said the cameras will cost between $1,600 to $1,700 per bus.

Dickerson said other safety improvements have already been implemented in all the schools.

He said new door keypads were installed on all the doors and a new buzzing system with a monitor was added inside the buildings.
