A Shelby man has been indicted by the Richland County Grand Jury on two counts of abduction. Prosecutors say 36-year-old Nathan Howell gave a female co-worker and her child a ride, at her request, on January 17th. While in the car, he expressed an interest in having a relationship, which the woman declined. Prosecutors say Howell held the woman against her will for over an hour, pulling her back into the car when she tried to escape. She eventually was able to call her mother, who sent police. Howell was arrested and the woman her child were freed unharmed. Nathan Howell faces up to ten years in prison, if convicted. |
