"The History of an Historic Black Community called Bronzeville, and why it's important today." That was the title of an hour-long presentation Wednesday at Ohio State-Mansfield, as part of February being Black History Month. Bronzeville is a 1.5 square-mile community of 8,000 on the near east side of Columbus, near Interstates 71 and 670. Ohio State University Professor, Dr. Judson Jeffries, says Bronzeville has spent 75 years trying to build and maintain its identity. Also discussing Bronzeville's storied history and optimistic future were community residents Dana Moessmer and Willis Brown. |
