A $500,000 bond has been set for a Galion High School Social Studies and Career Based Intervention teacher accused of having sexual relations with an underage student.

Ryan E. Tanner, 36, pleaded not guilty Wednesday in Crawford County Commons Pleas court to five counts of sexual battery.
 

Tanner was arrested Jan. 28 on a sexual battery warrant following an investigation by the Galion Police Department into allegations that he had a sexual relationship with a student from the end of 2011 through 2012.

 Tanner was placed on administrative leave Jan. 23, pending a criminal investigation.
