Food Check-out Week wound up with the annual Farmer's Share Breakfast, held this past weekend at Shelby High School. Crawford, Morrow, Richland County Farm Bureau Office Administrator Eileeen Eisenhower says this is the sixth year for the breakfast, which is a way to reach out to consumers. She says the breakfast used to emphasize the week being known as the date when a family of four raised enough money to feed them for the year but now they emphasize about the quality of the food being raised. A Richland County farmer donated the hogs for the sausage and the processing was done by the Pioneer Career and Technology Center's meat lab. Money donated from the breakfast is earmarked for various food pantries throughout Richland County. |
