Academy Awards Winners In Today's Hollywood Minute

There was a heated race for Best Picture at this year's Academy Awards. Martha Shade tells us which film came out on top Sunday night in today's Hollywood Minute. On Hollywoood's biggest night, even first-time Oscar host Seth McFarlane seemed a bit starstruck. "You guys have made some beautiful, some inspiring movies, I made Ted," McFarlane said. To present the biggest award of the night, First Lady Michelle Obama made a live appearance from the White House. "And the Oscar goes to...Argo," said the First Lady. The film set during the Iranian hostage crisis, was also recognized for editing and adapted screenplay. "I thank everyone in the movie, on the movie, worked the movie, did anything with this moive, gets thanked, I want to thank Canada, I want to thank our friends in Iran, living in terrible circumstances right now,"said actor, producer and director of Argo, Ben Affleck. "Les Miserables also won three Oscars, including Best Suipporting Actress, Anne Hathaway. "It came true!" she said. Adele performed "Skyfall," which won for Best Song. "Life of Pi" took home four Oscars, the most of any film, including Best Director for Ang Lee. "Thank you movie gods!" he said. Daniel Day-Lewis became the first man to win three tims in the Best Leadng Actor catgory, this year for "Lincoln." "Since we got married 16 years ago, my wife Rebecca has lived with some very strange men," said day-Lewis. Twitter lit up after Jennifer Lawrence tripped over her dress on her way to accept the award for Best Leading Actress in "Silver Linings Playbook." "You guys are just standing up because you feel bad that I fell and that's really embarrassing but thank you," she said. Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained" took home two Oscars, for Original Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor, Christoph Waltz. |
