At 15-7 and 9-5 in the Ohio Cardinal Conference, the Lexington Minutemen will open tournament play Friday at Bucyrus in the Division II sectional final against either Upper Sandusky or Shelby.  Lex heads into the tournament having won seven out of their last nine games finishing the season with a win on the road at Orrville.

Coach Scott Hamilton says the two teams are somewhat the same in the fact that they are both deliberate, Upper more so than Shelby.  He has also backed off just a bit on practice in order to get his team fresh for Friday.  Lex will play the first game Friday at Bucyrus at 6:15pm.  Should they win, they'll advance to the Division II, district semifinal at Ohio Northern University next Wednesday March 6th.

The Minutemen did not play the Rams during the regular season, but did play Shelby and beat the Whippets 64-53 at Joe Yohn Gymnasium back on January 5th.
