At 20-3, the NOL and sectional champion Shelby girls basketball team will try to take down rival Willard (14-9) for the third time this season when the two meet in the Division II district semifinal at Bucyrus.  Shelby won both games during the regular season by scores of 48-35 and 64-59.  In the second game it took a 17-2 Shelby run in the final two minutes to pull the game out of fire with the Whippets down ten 57-47.

Shelby advanced to districts by edging Madison 49-47, while Willard took down Kenton in their sectional final 62-54.

Shelby coach Natalie Lantz, says they can not allow Willard to dictate the tempo of the game which the Flashes did for most of the second game.  The winner of Thursday's game will take on the winner of the Clear Fork/Clyde contest in the D-2 district final Saturday at 7pm back at Bucyrus.
