The final official word has not come down from Ohio National Guard headquarters, but all signs are "go" that eight C-130 aircraft are coming to the 179th Airlift Wing at Mansfield Lahm Airport.

Base commander, Col. Gary McCue says crews are in training for them, and this new mission should add about 200 jobs to the 800 jobs at the base.

Col. McCue likes the C-27-J planes, but he accepts the C-130 without further debate.

The first of the C-130's could arrive by April, with the rest coming in May and June.
