North Central Ohio is under a winter storm warning, with four to eight inches of snow expected through noon Wednesday. Ohio Department of Transportation District Three has its trucks loaded with salt, and its normal compliment of 10 to 15 crews per shift in each of its counties are ready to hit the roads. Public Information Officer Christine Myers says the snowfall last weekend will help, because residue of salt is still on the roads, serving as a pre-treatment. When the snow starts falling, more salt will be spread on the roads, and as the storm progresses, plowing will begin. The good news about this storm is, it will be overwith quickly and the temperature will rise. Myers says this has been a normal winter, and with a new contract that saved big money on salt, O.D.O.T. is well within its snow-removal budget. |
