Bond has been reduced for a Galion High School Social Studies and Career Based Intervention teacher accused of having sexual relations with an underage student.

Ryan Tanner's bond was reduced from $500,000 to $250,000 Tuesday in Crawford County Common Pleas Court.

Tanner is charged with five counts of felony sexual battery. Authorities allege the charges involve one or more high school students.

Crawford County Common Pleas Judge Russell Wiseman also warned Tanner not to have any contact with the alleged victims.

Tanner was arrested Jan. 28 on a sexual battery warrant following an investigation by the Galion Police Department into allegations that he had a sexual relationship with a student from December 2011 through 2012.

Tanner was placed on administrative leave Jan. 23, pending a criminal investigation.

A trial is scheduled for April 16 and 17.

Tanner has requested a change of venue through his attorney. The judge has not made a ruling on the motion.
