Fire Damages 120 Vennum Avenue In Mansfield

A fire in Mansfield has displaced a local family of 12 and claimed the life of their beloved dog.

Mansfield Firefighters responded to the scene of the fire Wednesday night around 6:30 p.m. at 120 Vennum Avenue.

Family members and the rest of there pets made it out of the home safely, but firefighters were not able to rescue the family's Chihuahua.

The fire is believed to have started in an upstairs bedroom of the home.

No one was injured in the fire.

The Richland County Chapter of the American Red Cross is assisting the family. 

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
