Richland Newhope Names Winners In 20th Coloring Contest

Richland Newhope announced the winners of its 20th annual third grade coloring contest Friday, as part of March being Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month.    

The pizza party lunch included appearances by Miss Wheelchair Ohio Angela Hunter, Miss Ohio Elissa McCracken, and of course the winners themselves.    

Community Relations Director Jane Imbody says 611 entries were submitted from 18 schools, with one winner from each school. 

Each received a certificate, their photo with Miss Ohio and Miss Wheelchair Ohio, and other prizes.

The children also had the opportunity to participate in simulated disabilities, such as using a wheelchair and having difficulty picking up a coin.

The winners are:

Ella Biettner, Auburn Elementary; Emma Williams, Bellville Elementary; Riley Jo Brokaw, Butler Elementary; Elaina Rocks, Central Elementary; Mary Leeper, Crestview Elementary; Jansen Hildreth, Discovery School; Mollie Eith, Dowds Elementary; Edwin White, Eastview Elementary; Alexis Fugett, Foundation Academy; Lane Hancock, Madison South Elementary; Alexia Gerber, Mansfield Spanish Immersion School; Jordon Porter, Mifflin Elementary; Luis Garcia, Newman Elementary; Jameelah Brown, Prospect Elementary; Abbie Vogt, Sacred Heart Elementary; Isabelle Annis, St. Peter's Elementary; Emilee Woods, Stingel Intermediate; and Cassidy McCafferty, Woodland Elementary.
