A happy homecoming Friday for a young man whose life was forever altered in the few seconds it took for a car to skid out of control. 20-year-old Joshua Owens of Mansfield was critically injured when the car in which he was riding crashed into a concrete wall, then was hit by a tanker truck, last August in Tennessee. He had been in a hospital, where doctors suggested he be removed from life-support. His mother Robin rejected that idea, and he returned to their Lenox Avenue home, greeted by family and friends. Owens suffered brain injuries that shut-down all his motor skills. Josh's long-term prognosis for recovery is unknown, but he will undergo rehabilitation therapy at the Rehab Center of North-Central Ohio as he tries to get back to as much of a normal life as he can. |
