The Anthony Wayne Generals put an end to Mansfield Senior's basketball season in the Division I district final at Bowling Green State University's Stroh Center by a final of 64-51.  The game started well enough with the Tygers jumping out to a quick 5-0 lead and a 13-9 lead after one period.  But in the second period, the Generals adjusted to Senior High's quickness and AW senior 6'10' center Mark Donnal began to take the game over by scoring 20 points, grabbing 14 rebounds and blocking eight shots, as Anthony Wayne held the Tygers to just five second quarter points taking 27-18 lead into the locker room at the break.

To start the second half the Generals went on a quick 6-0 run and pushed their lead to 18 points at 40-22 with just over four minutes remaining in the third quarter before Mansfield rallied for a 9-0 run cutting the General's lead to 40-31.  But that would be as close as Mansfield Senior would get as Anthony Wayne would close the third with a mini 5-0 run to lead after three 45-31 and the Tygers never challenged again.  Anthony Wayne would push their lead to 22 points in the fourth quarter enroute to a 64-51 win over Mansfield and taking the Division I district championship.

After the General's Donnal, AW put three other players in double digit scoring with Jake Reid getting 13, Ose Omofoma and Matt Fox both scored 10.  The Generals were also impressive from the line hitting their first 14 and going 20-30.  The Tygers were led by senior Keon Johnson who played his last game in a Tyger uniform scoring 18.  Donovyn Benson had 9, Robert Jones 7.  The loss ends Mansfield Senior's season at 21-4, while Anthony Wayne moves on the D-1 regional semifinal at the University of Toledo on Thursday at 20-4.
