A family spokesperson says South African track star Oscar Pistorius has applied for more lenient bail restrictions, including permission to travel overseas.

Pistorius was charged with shooting and killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Feb. 14.

The 2012 Olympian sprinter said he thought Steenkamp was an intruder.

The spokesperson also says Pistorius is trying to sell his home where Steenkamp was killed.

He was released on bail last month.

Some of the bail conditions are: Pistorius cannot return to the home where the shooting happened, he had to give up his passport and he cannot go near an airport.

He will be back in court in June.
