Seventy-two students from 11 schools in Richland County submitted entries for the Solid Waste Management Authority's annual poster contest.

Members of the authority's staff and board voted Wednesday for the winners from each of seven elementary schools, and three middle schools, plus overall winners at those two school levels.

Jaime Robinson of Lucas submitted the only poster in the high school category.

The 13 winning posters will be displayed on the Solid Waste Authority's next calendar, which runs from September through August.

About 2500 calendars are distributed throughout the county.

Each winner will receive prizes, including recycled products and gift certificates, at the May board meeting.
