Arrows Looking For Arms As Season Nears

After finishing as Ohio Cardinal Conference, sectional and district champions and regional runners-up last seasonwith an overall record of 23-5, 11-1 in conference, the Ashland Arrow baseball team is gearing up for the start of the season on April 2, against Orrville. For head coach Rob Lavengood, he looking for pitching, which the Arrows had plenty of a season ago. Lavengood says the team has a good base with the return of Tyson Vogel, but he will also be counting on five to six pitchers who threw JV a season ago to step into varsity rolls. As far as this season's OCC race, Lavengood thinks the entire conference will be tough, but says the favorite in his mind is last season's state semifinalist West Holmes. |
