The North stormed back to score a victory in the 35th Annual Mansfield News Journal All-Star Basketball Classic. Mark Delaney's South team fell behind, 60-54 at halftime, but he seemd to find the key combinations in the final 20 minutes. The coveted MVP award was not decided until late in the going. Strong candidates included Mansfield Senior's Keon Johnson. The slippery guard led all scorers with 30 points, including 7 of 11 from the line. Willard's Matt Cok also made a strong case with a prayer that was answered at the first half buzzer. He finished with 19 points and 13 rebounds. Ultimately, it was Shelby's Grant Fenner, representing the North team, that walked away with the trophy following his 28 points and 15 boards. He put an exclamation point on the night with a thunderous dunk at the game-ending buzzer.
