Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel was in Mansfield Monday, for a roundtable discussion with local business leaders.

He was joined by State Representative Mark Romanchuk, in addressing how the state is trying to become more business-friendly.

Mandel says he chose to come here because he believes Richland County can help lead Ohio's economic recovery.  He held the meeting at Gorman-Rupp because it makes pumps and products that support and create jobs for many important industries, such as agriculture, defense, and oil and gas drilling.

The business leaders, most of whom lead manufacturing companies, peppered Mandel with questions and comments about the challenges they face, such as finding qualified workers.

Mandel also spoke of the proposed state budget, which calls for personal and business income tax cuts.

Romanchuk says the governor's idea of expanding the sales tax is "off the table".
