Ohio Energy Official Discusses Drilling With Republicans

Oil and natural gas drilling was the topic of discussion at Momday's Richland County Republican Party luncheon.

The guest speaker was Mike Chadsey, Director of Energy in Depth Ohio, which promotes development of energy resources and takes steps to protect the environment.

He says oil and gas drilling dates back to the 1850's, but many people don't understand it.

Chadsey says the brine injection wells Mansfield leaders fought to prevent are regulated and safe.

He says drilling and injection wells create jobs, and Mansfield is a prime location for those operations.
