The Madison Rams and West Holmes Knights met earlier this week in a two game, home-and-home set to start off the OCC portion of the baseball season with each team winning on the others home field.  On Tuesday evening Madison took their first on the season stopping the Knights 11-6.  Bo Curvin picked up the win with three strike outs and two walks as the Rams pounded out nine hits.

On Wednesday night West Holmes, who advanced to the final four in Division II in 2012, gained a split with the Rams by downing Madison 12-5.  The Knights jumped out early on Ram pitcher Blake Lampert for four runs in the first, before Lampert settled in giving up just two more.  Lampert struck out three and walked three.  For West Holmes, Dillion Baird struck out 14 Rams, walking two.

With the win the Knights improve to 2-1 on the season and will play Danville next in non-conference, while Madison stands at 1-2 and will play host to Division III state semifinalist from a year ago Fredericktown on Friday.
