Original Published: 4/10/2013   The U.S. Air Force has begun grounding a third of its fighter jet fleet.    An Air Force spokesman says dozens of units in the U.S., Europe and the Pacific will ultimately stand down.    The grounding will involve jets assigned to fighter, bomber, airborne warning and other squads.    It's the result of forced spending cuts from the government-wide austerity that began in March.    The Pentagon is expcted to absorb about half of the 85 billion dollars in sweeping budget cuts, called sequester, from the inability of Congress to reach a deal on deficit reduction.
