Upwards of 80 participants competed in the Ashland University Triathlon 2013 held over the weekend.   Race director Tyler Franz started the event last year to raise money for a mission trip and this time around, proceeds are earmarked for a scholarship fund so other students can embark on mission trips.   The triathlon is not for the meek as three events test each participants health and physical well-being.   After raising $800 a year ago, Franz was hopeful they would be able to more than double that amount from this year's triathlon.
