Around 2 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, a vehicle carrying four elderly women was involved in a single vehicle crash on Ohio 314 in between Ontario and Lexington.

Trooper Randall Adkinson said the driver swerved to avoid an obstruction in the road and hit a driveway which sent the car airborn into a cluster of trees at 1634 Ohio314. Sheila Moyer witnessed the accident and ran over to comfort the women who were trapped in the vehicle.

Moyer said the women were shocked and confused by what had just transpired and that a couple of them seemed to have injuries.

Three of the women were taken to MedCentral Mansfield Hospital for treatment, while a Life Flight helicopter took the fourth to Grant Medical Center in Columbus.

Trooper Adkins said the vehicle appeared to have been traveling around the speed limit and that no serious injuries were expected as a result of the wreck.
