It is said you can't be at your best without your best.  And for the time being that's the way it is with the Col.Crawford softball team as they deal with injuries to key players.  With Sara Swisher on the sideline with an ACL and pitcher Nickyla Gaverick out for the second straight game with an ankle injury, the Eagles allowed 13 walks with three errors and even though CC outhit the Bucks 13 to 8, it was Buckeye Central that came away with a much needed 14-12 win, something BC coach Roger Durnwald said was a boost of confidence.

Col.Crawford trailed early 3-0, but rallied back to grab an 8-3 lead in the third, then Buckeye rallied for 11 unanswered runs to take a 14-8 lead into the bottom of the seventh , then hung on to pick up their fourth win of the season and first in the NCC to improve to 4-7 in all games and 1-1 in conference.  The Eagles dip to 7-2 and 1-1.

Makayla Stover, Hailey Hildebrand and Maddie Fagan all had two hits for the Bucks.  Crawford's Bri Rankins and Leianna Massie had two, Courtney Tinkey had three.  Both teams are scheduled to play on Friday, Buckeye Central is at Galion, while Ontario (8-3, 2-0) will be at Col.Crawford.
