26 year old Tamerlan Tsarnaev wanted in connection to the bombings at the Boston Marathon is dead. The other suspect, his 19 year old brother Dzhokar, has been captured.

Police responded to the Cambridge campus of MIT Thursday evening where an officer was shot and killed. The area was shut down and the college community was warned to stay away.

Action then sprung up in the nearby community of Watertown where an alleged carjacking may have involved explosives. Gunfire was exchanged and one officer was shot. Transit Police Chief Paul MacMillan said "In the exchange of gunfire, we believe one suspect was struck and ultimately taken into custody.  One suspect was able to flee from that car."

The first suspect was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead after suffering extensive injuries including more than just gunshot wounds.

A door to door manhunt had been underway for Dzhokar Tsarnaev. Friends say they can't believe what is happening. "He didn't show any malicious sign, no evidence that would lead any of to us really believe he would be capable of something like this." One friend said.

Officers captured Dzhokar Tsarnaev Friday evening.
