Warrior Baseball Getting On Track

The Ontario baseball team has started to play close to the level they were at last season as they get into the heart of their NCC scheduleas they look to defend their conference crown.  On Monday they hosted NCC rival Bucyrus looking to keep their eye on the ball so-to-speak. 

The Warriors remained undefeated in conference play with a 5-4 win over Bucyrus in eight innings to improve to 13-1 in all games and 4-0 in the NCC.  Mitch Mc Cristall picked up the win with ten strike outs, while Tyler Beal, Brad Dretzka and Aaron Baker providing some of the offense with Beal and Dretzka getting three hits.

On the softball side, before Monday's game against Bucyrus, the Warriors stood at 2-0 in the NCC and 9-4 in all games.  But things got rough early on against the Redmen as Bucyrus jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first and took advantage of three Ontario errors en route to a 12-2 run rule win as Bucyrus pounded out 18 hits with no errors in the field to improve to 6-3 in all games and 3-0 in the NCC. 

Taylor Rossman got the win for the Redmen with seven strike outs.  Jackie Gabriel, Macy Sheerer and Rossman all had doubles, Merideth Remy tripled for Ontario.  The two teams play again on Wednesday at Bucyrus.
