A Monroeville native is taking her unique skills to the depths of the oceans -- working for the U-S Navy.

Kathleen Gorby is a Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class.

That means she spends a lot of time as an underwater photographer.

Here she is during a training session off the coast of Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Gorby is part of an underwater photo team that trains twice a year to hone its divers' specialized skills.

That training also ensures valuable support of Department of Defense activities worldwide.
