As the season start to wind down, the Col.Crawford softball team finds itself at 8-6 overall and 2-2 in the NCC and fighting the injury bug.  The Eagles have lost a back up pitcher and senior center fielder Sara Swisher to a knee injury for the season, which has left veteran coach Chuck Huggins searching for a different combinations in the field.  Starting senior pitcher Nickyla Gaverick was also out for ten days with an ankle injury.  With Galion, Wynford, Lucas, Upper Sandusky and Crestline still left on the schedule, younger players will have to step in to starting rolls sooner than expected.

This weekend also marks the Division IV tournament softball drawing.  A year ago, after beating St. Peter's 25-0, the Eagles were upset in the sectional final 2-1 by Mansfield Christian.  For several of the seniors, they remember being bounced out early last season as the loss ended a two year run as D-4 district champions.
