Red Cross Seeking Volunteers

The Richland County Chapter of the American Red Cross is seeking volunteers.

Mary Alice Frank, CEO of the Red Cross of Northeast Ohio, spoke to the commissioners Thursday morning about their work in general, but also to put out an appeal for people who want to help their neighbors when disaster strikes.

She says three families in northeast Ohio are burned out of their homes every night, with Richland County having 71 housefires affecting people in the last nine months.

She says volunteers are needed to provide those families with food, clothing, shelter, emergency medical and personal supplies, and emotional support.
