Original Published: 5/6/2013Primary election day is tomorrow, and preparations are in full swing at the Richland County Board of Elections. Poll workers are picking-up their voting machines and taking them to voting locations. Deputy Elections Director Bill Freytag says 300 voting machines are being sent to 85 precincts, down from the normal 450 to 475 because there's not much on the ballot. Today is also the last day for early voting. Freytag says only about 1000 people have voted early, far below the 20,000 for the Presidential election in November.  He expects overall turn-out be no more than 25%. The only countywide ballot issue is a levy for the Richland County assisted living facility Dayspring. Mansfield Schools are seeking renewal of a levy, and the long-standing Mansfield Pothole Haters income tax is up for renewal. There are contested races for a Mansfield City Council at-large seat among three Democrats, for Ontario Mayor, council president, and council at-large, and for the fourth ward seat on Shelby City Council.
