In the Democratic primary for Mansfield city council at-large, Cindy Baker garnered 42-percent of the vote in defeating Chris Elswick and Walden Jefferson.

Baker takes on Republican incumbent Cliff Mears in November.

And in the fourth ward Shelby city council race, Nathan Martin and Ted Clabaugh advance to face each other in November.
