U.S. Postal Service letter carriers will conduct their 21st annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive on Saturday, May 11.

Residents are asked to leave food in or near their mailboxes.

Letter carrier and food drive coordinator, Jean Mullins, of the Mansfield Post Office says they're looking for canned and boxed non-perishable food.

Thirty volunteers will sort the food at Toy Time headquarters on North Diamond Street.

Several Mansfield pizza restaurants are donating pizzas to the volunteers to keep them fed during their long hours of work.

Food donated locally will be given to Catholic Charities, the Salvation Army, and the Volunteers of America.

The Stamp Out Hunger food drive generated 21 tons last year in the Mansfield area, and 70-million pounds nationwide.

More than a billion pounds of food has been collected over the last 20 years.
