Annual DARE Olympics Held This Year At Malabar Intermediate

  Original Published: 5/13/2013  The annual DARE Olympics were held at a new location this spring as Malabar Intermediate School on Cook Road in Mansfield was the host site.   Mansfield Police Department DARE Officer Jack Shay says students who graduate from the program have a chance to compete in seven events.   Shay says the Olympics are always held at the end of the DARE program in the schools.   First, second and third place medals are awarded to the high finishers in each event.   This year's event was called the Chuck Norris Dare Olympics in honor of the former Mansfield Police Officer who passed away in January of 2010 and who was a strong proponent of working with students.
