The Ashbrook Center at Ashland University has a new executive director.

Previous deputy director and 16-year Ashbrook Center employee Roger Beckett says he's excited about the opportunity and the center's future.

The Ashbrook Center focuses on teaching United States history, not only to its own scholars, but to school teachers and students across the country.

The Ashbrook Center is also well known for bringing in national and world political leaders to speak its annual memorial dinners, and Beckett says that will certainly continue.

The 1996 Ashland University and Ashbrook Scholar program graduate replaces Doctor Peter Schramm, who served as the Ashbrook Center's director for 16 years.
