ODOT District 3 Weekly Construction Report
For the Week of May 20

ASHLAND COUNTY
SR 60
SR 60, between Township Road 585 and County Road 2404, is closed for an embankment repair and culvert replacement project. The detour route for southbound motorists is SR 60 to State Route 179, south on SR 179 to State Route 95, west on SR 95 to SR 60, and reverse. The road is expected to reopen in early July, 2013.

State Route 96
SR 96, between the Richland County line and Cottage Street in the City of Ashland, is reduced to one lane of traffic as part of a resurfacing project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete on August 27, 2013.

US Route 250
US 250, between County Road 1575 and Township Road 653 in Montgomery Township, is reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction. Traffic will be maintained at all times in each direction with narrowed lane widths. Paving work continues on this project, and motorists should be prepared for delays throughout the remainder of construction. The project is expected to be complete in June 2013.

US Route 250
US 250, just east of Township Road 593, may have intermittent single lane closures or shoulder closures for a culvert replacement. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers as needed. The project is expected to be complete by June 21, 2013.

State Route 545 - ***NEW***
SR 545, just south of Township Road 908 in Clear Creek Township, will close Monday, May 20 for a culvert replacement. The detour route for southbound motorists is SR 545 to US Route 250, east on US 250 to State Route 60, south on SR 60 to State Route 96, west on SR 96 to SR 545, and reverse for northbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on May 23, 2013.

CRAWFORD COUNTY
State Route 103 - ***UPDATE***
SR 103, between North Auburn Road and State Route 39, is closed for the replacement of a bridge. It is expected that this bridge will reopen Tuesday, May 21. The second bridge being replaced as part of this project, 0.4 mile west of the Huron County line, is being maintained with a temporary traffic signal for two-way traffic. The project is expected to be complete at the end of September 2013.

State Route 598
SR 598, between Brandt Road and County Road 330, is reduced to one lane of traffic as part of a resurfacing project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete by the end of July 2013.

ERIE COUNTY
US Route 6
US 6, just east of Joppa Road in Vermilion Township, is closed for the replacement of a culvert. The detour route for eastbound motorists is US 6 to State Route 61, south on SR 61 to State Route 2, east on SR 2 to State Route 60, north on SR 60 to US 6, and reverse for westbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on June 3, 2013.

HURON COUNTY
US Route 20
US 20, at its bridge over the Huron River in the village of Monroeville, is reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction for bridge repairs as part of an upcoming resurfacing project. One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction through mid-May, 2013.

State Route 61 & Snyder Road
SR 61, at its bridge with Snyder Road in Peru Township, is reduced to one lane of two-way traffic maintained with a temporary traffic signal for repair work. Snyder Road is also closed at its intersection with SR 61. Detour is posted. The work is expected to be complete in late-July 2013.

State Route 162
SR 162, from one mile east of the Seneca County line to State Route 99, is closed for the replacement of four culverts. The detour route for westbound motorists is SR 162 to SR 99, south on SR 99 to US Route 224, west on US 224 to State Route 4, north on SR 4 to SR 162, and reverse for eastbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen by May 31, 2013.

LORAIN COUNTY
State Route 58
SR 58, between West Lorain Street (State Route 511) and Walnut Street in the City of Oberlin, is closed for a sanitary sewer replacement project for approximately one month. Upon completion of that work, SR 58 will then close at its intersection with Morgan Street for another month. Local traffic can follow posted detour; however, the detour route for trucks is SR 58 to US Route 20, west on US 20 to Baumhart Road, north on Baumhart Road to State Route 113, east on SR 113 to SR 58, and reverse for southbound trucks. A local detour route for cars has also been set up by the City of Oberlin. The work is expected to be complete in mid-June 2013.

Interstate 90
I-90, over the Black River and Ford Road, is reduced to two narrowed 11’ lane widths of traffic in each direction for bridge deck replacements. The restrictions will remain in place through November 2013. 

State Route 301
SR 301 (Abbe Road), at its bridge over Interstate 90 in the village of Sheffield, is closed as part of a replacement project.  The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 301 to State Route 254, southwest on SR 254 to I-90, east on I-90 to State Route 611, west on SR 611 to SR 301, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen in early September, 2013. 

MEDINA COUNTY
State Route 3
SR 3, at its intersection with Reagan Parkway, has intermittent single lane closures for work as part of an intersection improvement project in the City of Medina. One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction at all times with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete in August 2013.

Interstate 71
I-71, at various locations near its interchanges with State Route 18 and State Route 303, has intermittent single lane closures or shoulder closures as part of a noise wall replacement project. Two to three lanes of traffic will be maintained at all times. The project is expected to be complete in August 2013.

Interstate 76
I-76, between State Route 57 and the Summit County line, is reduced to one lane of traffic for a rehabilitation project. Motorists are advised to use caution in this area and watch for slower moving traffic as it merges in to the open lane. The project will be complete in September 2013.
RICHLAND COUNTY

US Route 30
US 30, near its interchange with West Fourth Street interchange, is reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction for a bridge painting project. The overhead bridge structures at West Fourth Street, Lexington-Springmill Road and Trimble Road will be painted as part of this project.  One 11-foot lane will be maintained at all times. The project is scheduled to be complete in August 2013.

Interstate 71 (Morrow County)
I-71, from just south of the Morrow/Richland County line to State Route 95 (between mile markers 158 and 150), is reduced to two narrowed lanes of traffic as part of a reconstruction and widening project. Two 11’foot lanes are being maintained in each direction and I-71 northbound is using a crossover traffic pattern through the remainder of the project. The project is expected to be complete in October 2013. 

State Route 95 - ***NEW***
SR 95, between Armstrong Road and Wagner Road in Worthington Township, will close Monday, May 20 for a culvert replacement. The detour route for south-westbound motorists is SR 95 to State Route 97, west on SR 97 to State Route 13, south on SR 13 to SR 95, and reverse for north-eastbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on May 24, 2013.

State Route 96
SR 96, between State Route 13 and the City of Shelby, is reduced to one lane of traffic as part of a resurfacing project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. SR 96, just west of SR 13, is also reduced to one lane of two-way traffic maintained with a temporary signal for bridge repairs through mid-May.  The project is expected to be complete on August 20, 2013.

State Route 314 (Morrow County)
SR 314, at its bridge over Interstate 71, is closed for a bridge replacement as part of the I-71 widening and reconstruction project. The detour route for southbound motorists is SR 314 to US Route 42, south on US 42 to State Route 95, southeast on SR 95 to SR 314, and reverse for northbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on August 19, 2013. 

Trimble Road, Mansfield
Trimble Road, near its interchange with US Route 30 in the City of Mansfield, has intermittent daytime single lane closures as part of a traffic signal replacement project from National Parkway to Longview Avenue. The project is expected to be complete in October 2013.

WAYNE COUNTY
State Route 3/Columbus Avenue
Columbus Avenue northbound, at its bridge over US Route 30 in the City of Wooster, is closed. Both northbound lanes are closed over the bridge as part of a repair project; however, the southbound lanes will remain open. The lanes are expected to reopen in early June 2013.

US Route 30
US 30, between State Route 3/Columbus Avenue and Jefferson Road, is restricted to one lane of traffic as part of a smooth seal project. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times in each direction. The project is expected to be complete in late June 2013.
