First Call 2-1-1 Receives Excellent Rating For Service

  Original Published: 5/22/2013First Call 2-1-1 of Richland County has received an excellent rating from 211US.org for its overall service delivery. 211US.org is an independent administrative enitity focused on ensuring that 2-1-1 is Excellent, Everywhere and Always. The organization's Quality Assurance Subcommittee conducted mystery calls to various 2-1-1 call centers across the United States over the last two years. First Call of Richland County Information and Referral Specialist Terry Carter gave an operational update to the library board of trustees on Tuesday about rating.The First Call 2-1-1 staff covers the following service hours: Monday - Thursday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. "Two individuals volunteer 12 hours per week. Catalyst Life Services formerly The Center,  provides coverage for the other times with direct access into our software and reporting system," Carter said. In the summer of 2012, 26 mystery calls were placed to the call centers in Ohio. Three were rated excellent, 6 were rated above average, 8 were average and 6 were below average.There are currently 18 call centers covering 56 of Ohio counties. The free 24-hour three digit dialing service provides non-emergency information and links to community resources. More than 8 million Ohio residents now have access to 2-1-1 services.
