Lex Baseball, Madison Softball Prep for District Final

At 23-4 and outright Ohio Cardinal Conference champions in softball, the Madison Rams will try to win their first district championship since 1998, when they take on 24-6 Clyde in the Division II district final at Buckeye Central Saturday at noon.  Madison as a team is hitting over .390 and has been able to produce big hits at key times especially late in the season in their OCC chamionship game against Lex, and against Sandusky Perkins in the district semifinal.  Should Madison win on Saturday, they'll take on the winner of the Lima Bath/Maumee contest next Wednesday at Bucyrus at 5pm in the D-2 regional semifinal.

In Division II baseball, Lexington slipped past Lima Shawnee 3-2 on Thursday at Bluffton.  The Minutemen got off to a good start getting two runs in the first, then made it 3-0 in the third before the Indians made it close getting a run in the fourth and another in the fifth.  With the win Lexington improves to 22-4 and will take on 18-5 Wapakoneta who buried Bellevue 14-4 in six innings, Saturday at 2pm back at Bluffton University.  The winner will advnce to the Division II regional semifinal to face Granville at Tiffin University next Thursday at 2pm.
