Recreation Center will be holding an event for members of the community and opening its climbing wall to those in the community on four Saturdays during the summer.

The Rec Center will hold its second annual Community Ultimate Frisbee Tournament for members of the Ashland community who are ages 16 and up. The event, which will feature a men’s and women’s division, will be held on Saturday, Aug. 3, with registration due by July 26.

Teams consist of seven players and all teams are guaranteed at least two games. The cost is $20 per team. There will be prizes awarded to the top two finishing teams and consolation gifts for all participants.

For registration information, visit the AU Recreational Services Department Office, or email the AU Recreational Services Department at [email protected] or call 419-289-5440.

Also, for the first time ever, the Recreation Center will open up its climbing wall to members of the community on several Saturdays throughout the summer.

Members of the community who are ages 5 and up can take advantage of this new opportunity. The dates open to those in the community are Saturdays -- June 22, July 13 and July 27 --  from noon to 4 p.m.

The cost is $8 per climber and group rates of $30 for a group of four and $5 for each additional climber are available. For groups of 10 or more, please contact Recreational Services.
