The Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course will open it's 52nd season of racing this weekend with the Diamond Cellar Classic Grand-Am event which is part of the Rolex Grand-AM series.  Two different types of cars will be featured in the 2hr. 45min. event on Saturday at 4:30pm, Daytona Prototype and Grand Touring.  With two different classes, two different winners will be crowned as both will race on the track at the same time.

Come next season, their will be five classes racing together in 2014, when Grand-Am and ALMS merge to become United Sports Car Racing.  Last June, Michael Valianti and Richard Westbrook took the checkered flag in their #90 Corvette DP.  In GT, Bill Auberlen and Paul Dalla Lana hit the finish line first in their Turner Motorsport BMW M3.
